Online IATA DGR training

Dangerous Goods Regulations – Online Training on IATA DGR

International IATA rules require dangerous goods training to be repeated every two years. Skills acquired in training must be maintained through suitable skills assurance measures. A daunting task! Not only do instructors need to maintain their qualifications, but training documents also have to be kept updated and submitted for approval. It takes even more work to provide DGR online training courses yourself.

You can avoid all this trouble by bringing in wingsacademy as your external training provider – we have our own dangerous goods safety advisers, LBA-accredited DGR instructors and a wide range of online courses on IATA DGR.

What makes our dangerous goods training special:
  • Material packaged and taught by instructors accredited by the LBA to teach dangerous goods classes.
  • Direct practical relevance and included comprehension test as required by authorities such as the Federal Aviation Office.
  • System-based documentation of DGR training with legally compliant certificate.
Additional benefits of online training:
  • Efficient learning format officially approved by the national authorities (LBA, Austro Control).
  • Activation of all students through interactive exercises – including legally compliant exam.
  • Freely definable study load thanks to small German- and English-language modules.

Online Training, an Efficiency Driver

Web-based training (WBT) is essential for educating cabin and cockpit employees. It provides the extra efficiency and flexibility you need to cover all the topics in your training program, including health and safety in flight operations.

Not sure whether and where to use online training easily and apply it in accordance with the law? Let’s talk – we have the answers!

Background: DGR Courses and the IATA’s Role

IATA has standardised the international requirements for dangerous goods training for air transport. Learners are expected to complete initial training on the Dangerous Goods Regulations and then take continuation courses periodically afterwards. Both categories of DGR training have to meet rigorous criteria depending on the training method – in-person or online. These requirements are set out in the current IATA DGR, among other sources. It defines what material must be covered for each job involved in handling dangerous goods.
National authorities such as the German Federal Aviation Office (LBA) or Austro Control approve the DGR training courses. They also provide guidance on course design – particularly for online courses – as well as the training process and the certificate itself.
