Safety Training Maintenance: Our New Online Training in Accordance with EASA Regulations

The training on Human Factors and Safety Management is now integrated into our new "Safety Training Maintenance" program. The development of this new, bilingual online training was triggered by the updated EASA regulations that will take effect in 2024. These changes affect all employees in Part-145 and CAMO operations within the aviation industry.

In addition to aligning with the current EASA regulations, the focus of the new online training development was on creating an integrated learning experience for all participants. The two topics, Human Factors and Safety Management System, were not only intended to be combined in the new "Safety Training Maintenance" program, but also to be meaningfully interwoven thematically. And this has been fully achieved!

Seamless Integration with the Human Factors Training

The training is divided into seven modules, consisting of a total of 21 chapters, where the topics of Human Factors and Safety Management System are combined and expanded with relevant content. The modules cover subjects such as communication, stress and stress prevention, motivation, the role of leadership, and the introduction of an effective safety culture.

The transition to Safety Training Maintenance will take place during the next rollout for the Human Factors training refresher. The necessary one-time configurations in the learning management system iLearn24® – Next Generation will be handled by the E-learning team support for our clients. The actual switch to the new training will be systematically managed for each individual employee to be trained. The online training on Safety Management System will expire simultaneously for employees in Maintenance or CAMO operations.

For the trainees, this means that in the future, instead of completing two separate trainings—Human Factors and Safety Management System—only one online training will need to be completed. The training, successfully completed in accordance with EASA requirements, will be certified as before, with the certificate available for download after the completion of the Safety Training Maintenance.

EASA Regulations and Demo Access to the Online Training

The Easy Access Rules for Continuing Airworthiness (Regulation (EU) No. 1321/2014) of EASA were last revised in December 2022. This revision includes changes to Regulation (EU) 2021/1963 regarding Safety Management Systems in maintenance operations, the associated ED Decision 2022/011/R, and a correction to Regulation (EU) 2019/1383 (Official Journal L 297/83 of November 17, 2022).

Our newly developed Safety Training Maintenance, based on this foundation, is available online for your review. Of course, we are also happy to answer any questions you may have regarding the EASA training or the transition in the LMS.
