Competency Assurance for CBTA: Initial Modules for Supplementary Dangerous Goods Training Now in Use

As of today, the first online modules for competency assurance in dangerous goods training, as required by IATA with the turn of the year 2022/2023, are now in operation. Currently, three small web-based trainings (WBT) are available in both German and English. They are accompanied by an evaluation, also required within the framework of Competency Based Training and Assessment (CBTA).

Each of the three competency assurance modules addresses a different topic in dangerous goods training according to IATA-DGR's CBTA. After a brief introduction, trainees are presented with tasks in the form of questions, exercises, or scenarios. If the respective task is solved correctly in the WBT on the first attempt, it indicates that the competence is present, and the online training is completed in a few minutes.

LBA Confirms: No Need for Repeating Training When Assurance of Competency is Conducted by Us

Should individual knowledge gaps be identified during the training process, they will be addressed immediately through reiteration and reinforcement within the competency assurance module. This aligns perfectly with the latest IATA-DGR requirements and the training process approved by the German Federal Aviation Office (LBA) for CBTA. This process also brings a significant advantage regarding recurrent training.

All individuals who have completed dangerous goods training with wingsacademy or AVIATICS and subsequently regularly undergo competency assurance measures with us from January 2023 onwards will no longer require a traditional CBTA recurrent training for recertification! Only the assessment of learning success must be completed within a period of three months before the expiration of a valid IATA-DGR certification.

CBTA: Required by IATA, Approved by LBA, Efficiently Designed Online by Us

Yet another additional advantage of competency assurance through wingsacademy or AVIATICS: We consolidate changes to the respective IATA-DGR in a competency assurance module and provide it to trainees throughout the year. This means that all participants in dangerous goods training are informed in a timely and legally verifiable manner of changes to IATA-DGR as soon as they come into effect.
