Fresh design, new features, and a completely revised content structure: Today, our EASA training course “Human Factors: Online Training on Ramp Resource Management for Ground Handling Staff (BVD)” went live. With a learning time of just 70 minutes, the new online course is significantly shorter than the previous version of the Human Factors training for ground handling personnel.
Ground handling staff can expect an interactive, multimedia-based, and highly accessible EASA course. In addition to visual diagrams and short video elements, particular emphasis has been placed on clear, easy-to-understand language — both in German and in English. This makes our Human Factors online training especially suitable for individuals whose first language is neither German nor English.

Clear and Practical Human Factors Training, Designed for Ground Handling Operations
Across five consecutive chapters, our online training sharpens the Human Factors awareness of ground handling staff. It examines both positive and negative influences on human performance and raises awareness of unsafe behaviors — both one’s own and those of others — and how to avoid them.
In the training, the turnaround process serves as the central reference point, enabling immediate practical application of all concepts to the everyday work of BVD personnel. Learners examine the turnaround “through the Human Factors lens,” gaining insights into the roles of all parties involved, key safety requirements, and above all the importance of teamwork in ground operations. Factors such as leadership, cultural differences, and situational awareness are explained, as are typical hazards and the potential impacts of errors during aircraft turnaround.

Fully Compliant Training for the EASA Ground Handling Regulation 2025/20
Our online training “Human Factors: Ramp Resource Management for Ground Handling Staff (BVD)” is based on Regulation (EU) 2025/20 and 2025/007/R issued by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). Additional guidance from GM3 ORGH.TRG.100(c) and GM4 ORGH.TRG.100(c) has also been integrated.
Although Regulation 2025/20 will only apply in full from 27 March 2028, the training requirements for ground handling personnel are already clear. They stem partly from the previous Basic Regulation (EU) 2018/1139 on ground handling at airports, and partly from EASA’s long-standing focus on harmonized safety standards across all areas of aviation — which consistently results in extensive training requirements. These trainings — including those on Human Factors — are already key audit criteria in EASA inspections today.
