New WBT Features and Human Factors: Greater Convenience and Accessibility
Your feedback from the customer survey and the customer forum prompted us to redesign our web-based training courses. In addition to even greater accessibility, there is - as requested - less text, more video, and an option to individually adjust the narrator’s speaking speed. We have a clear goal in mind: to make it easier to grasp the content and more enjoyable to learn. The new WBT design is being rolled out gradually to other online training courses and serves as the foundation for future functional enhancements.
With Human Factors Training for Ground Handling Services, we are offering one of our online training courses in simpler language for the first time. In addition to the standard German and English versions, this variant is aimed specifically at employees with limited German language skills or at individuals who benefit from content formulated in a particularly clear and understandable manner. This makes an aviation-specific topic accessible to a wider range of target groups. At the same time, we support companies in training employees with varying language proficiency in a consistent, practical, and audit-compliant manner.

New Online Training Courses on EASA, the AI Act, and Cyber Aviation Security
With the new EASA Fundamentals training course, we are expanding our portfolio of online aviation training courses to include an important foundational course. The course clearly explains the legal framework of Regulation (EU) 2018/1139, outlines the responsibilities of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), and clarifies its interaction with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the German Federal Aviation Authority (LBA). Another key focus is on audits. Participants learn about different types of audits, discover how audits are prepared, conducted, and followed up on, and gain a better understanding of how each individual can contribute to compliance with regulatory requirements.
About the training: EASA Training: Fundamentals, Key Actors and Audits (Regulation (EU) 2018/1139)
With our new online training courses on the EU’s AI Act, we are expanding our compliance portfolio to include a highly topical subject. These courses are based on Regulation (EU) 2024/1689, which establishes, for the first time, a uniform Europe-wide legal framework for the development and use of artificial intelligence systems. The training courses provide practical guidance on the requirements that companies and employees will need to comply with in the future. The focus is on the responsible use of AI, typical risks in everyday work, and how companies can prepare their employees for new obligations early on.
About the training: EU AI Act: Responsible Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Anyone who already uses artificial intelligence regularly in their daily work or will be responsible for its use in the future needs more in-depth knowledge. That is why we have expanded our offerings to include an in-depth training course on the EU’s AI Act. The course builds on the fundamentals and covers practical use cases from the business world. Topics include the risk-based approach of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689, transparency requirements, the responsible use of AI systems, and the responsibilities of employees and companies in ensuring the legally compliant use of artificial intelligence. This creates a comprehensive training program - from regulatory fundamentals to practical application in everyday work.
About the training: EU AI Act – Advanced Training for Understanding Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Our previous cybersecurity awareness training courses have been expanded into two completely revised online training courses on cyber aviation security in accordance with Section 11.2.8.2 of Regulation (EU) 2015/1998. Both courses incorporate the current guidelines of the Federal Aviation Authority (LBA), the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI), and the Federal Ministry of Transport (BMV). These training courses thus help airlines raise their employees’ awareness of cyber risks in a targeted manner. This is important because digital systems have long been an integral part of safety-critical processes from day-to-day operations to a secure supply chain.

Focus on Occupational Safety and Information Security
We have taken the insights from the results of our customer survey and used them to further develop several online training courses in the area of occupational safety and health, tailored to your needs.
As a result, the online training on occupational safety in flight operations is now available in separate versions for cabin and cockpit crews. The offer is supplemented by an abbreviated continuation training course, which is specifically designed for regular review of the material. This separation allows us to convey the respective hazards and work processes in a much more practical way. Employees receive exactly the content they need for their specific area of work—without unnecessary overlap. At the same time, this reduces the training burden on companies.

About the Training: Occupational Safety for Flight Operations – Cabin and Cockpit – Continuation Training
Airlines aren’t the only ones facing the challenge of raising their employees’ awareness of cyber risks. That’s why we continue to offer our online Cybersecurity Awareness training in a condensed version for companies outside the aviation industry. The training covers the fundamentals of modern information and IT security. Topics include phishing, social engineering, password security, the secure use of mobile devices, and typical attack scenarios encountered in everyday work. The goal is to detect security incidents early and respond to them appropriately.
About the training: Information Security: IT and Cyber Security Awareness
Aviation: Safety Management System and Cosmic Radiation Updated
In addition to new training courses, two established aviation training programs were also thoroughly revised and adapted to current regulatory developments.
The online Safety Management System (SMS) training course covers all requirements of Regulation (EU) No. 965/2012 and Regulation (EU) No. 376/2014 on the reporting, analysis, and follow-up of occurrences in civil aviation. The content and examples in the online course have now been adapted to meet today’s requirements for effective safety management. The focus is on practical implementation. Participants learn how to identify, assess, and effectively mitigate risks, as well as how each individual contributes to a functioning safety culture.
About our SMS training: SMS Training by wingsacademy
Our online “Cosmic Radiation” training course has also been completely revised. This mandatory training is designed for flight and cabin crews and covers the basics of cosmic radiation exposure in aviation as well as appropriate protective measures. In addition to the latest scientific findings, the new edition naturally also takes into account the applicable regulatory requirements for radiation protection of flight crew members. This provides companies with a practical and legally compliant foundation for training their flight crew.
