New in Our Portfolio: Compact IATA-DGR Online Training for Business Aviation

Our new IATA-DGR online training combines three dangerous goods courses into a single, streamlined program designed specifically for business aviation. Instead of completing separate trainings for the Categories of Activity (CA) R, S, and T, wingsacademy customers can now take just one compact course—saving time and money while ensuring full compliance. Upon successful completion, participants receive an LBA-certified certificate covering all IATA-DGR content for the three Categories of Activity.

“At wingsacademy, we have always been strong advocates for effective aviation training,” says Winfried Stecher, Head of E-Learning. “And for us, ‘effective’ goes beyond just well-structured, multimedia-based courses. It also means ensuring that the right content is taught at the right depth—focusing on what’s truly necessary and avoiding unnecessary complexity.”

Innovative Competency Assurance & Simplified Recurrent Training

Stecher sees this new IATA-DGR online training for business aviation as a logical evolution of wingsacademy’s approach to efficient learning. “We aim to make dangerous goods training as engaging and effective as possible while minimizing training time,” he explains. This approach has already earned recognition from the German Federal Aviation Office (LBA).

Even before the introduction of Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA), wingsacademy successfully convinced the LBA with a shortened refresher course that focused only on IATA-DGR updates and closing knowledge gaps. “With CBTA,” Stecher continues, “we introduced a unique competency assurance concept. Learners who complete this LBA-approved process alongside their existing IATA-DGR certification only need to pass a final test to renew their certification—eliminating the need for a full refresher course.”

TNA, Dangerous Goods Training & Competency Assurance—Beyond Business Aviation

In addition to the other LBA-approved IATA-DGR online training, wingsacademy offers a comprehensive, fully traceable training process that is both efficient and user-friendly—always in compliance with LBA requirements.

From Training Needs Analysis (TNA) before starting a course to manager feedback and training evaluations, every step is seamlessly integrated online for maximum efficiency.
