Three new online courses will expand our portfolio of standard aviation training programs by summer 2025: an EASA basic training course, a Cyber Security training based on Chapter 11.2.8 of Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/1998 in accordance with BSI (German Federal Office for Information Security) guidelines, and an online training program on the EU AI Act. This announcement was made today by Winfried Stecher, Head of the E-Learning Department at wingsacademy, during the presentation of the detailed 2025 annual training plan.
In addition to these new standard training courses, extensive updates have been announced for existing online training programs in the wingsacademy portfolio. Key updates include simplified language versions, such as an adapted Human Factors Training, a separate continuation training on occupational safety in flight operations, and a revised EWIS (Electrical Wiring Interconnection System) online course.
EASA Basic Training – Shedding Light on Regulations, Roles, and Auditing
The newly designed EASA Basic Training at wingsacademy is available in two tailored versions, targeting aviation professionals whose roles are directly or indirectly affected by EASA regulations. This course provides an overview of the essential regulatory framework, explains organizational structures, functions, and responsibilities, and ensures a clear understanding of individual accountability. Version one is designed for airport personnel, while version two is specifically tailored for airline cockpit and cabin crew.
The modular structure ensures that each participant receives only the relevant training necessary to understand their specific responsibilities—particularly regarding their role in aviation audits. The online course also allows for minor customizations to integrate site-specific requirements into the EASA standard training. Naturally, the course is offered in both German and English, with an interactive and multimedia-rich format.

Cyber Security: Online Training for Aviation in Accordance with Chapter 11.2.8 and BSI Guidelines
The existing IT Security online course—already part of the wingsacademy standard training portfolio—serves as the foundation for the new Cyber Security training. Its content has already been reviewed and approved by the BSI as part of our customers' security plan evaluations. Now, this newly developed Cyber Security standard training will further refine its content to address the specific needs of different target groups.
By summer 2025, not only will a general IT security training course be available, but also a specialized version tailored to the requirements of the German Civil Aviation Authority (Luftfahrt-Bundesamt, LBA) under Chapter 11.2.8 of Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/1998. This aligns with the latest BSI guidelines on cyber aviation security training. As expected, the course will be available in both German and English and will include an official certification.
Additionally, a newly developed online training course featuring a unique concept for maintaining cybersecurity awareness will be launched simultaneously.
